DURANT, Okla. (KFOR) – It is the formal flower of Shanghai, China, the state flower of both of those Louisiana and Mississippi, as perfectly as the blooming image of Durant.
The aromatic Magnolia and the century-outdated trees that maintain them were most likely brought to this portion of the state by the Durant relatives, French and Choctaw, who resettled from Mississippi.
These transplants grew roots listed here as well.
