City Park lists volunteer initiatives

A variety of cleanup days and initiatives are on faucet at City Park to improve and sustain the considerable urban green house.

Those coming up contain:

  • Litter Cleanup Krewe: 10 a.m. Tuesday. Litter removal in the course of the park. Also Dec. 20 and 27.
  • Graffiti Cleanup Krewe: 10 a.m. Dec. 22. Volunteers paint over graffiti and distinct debris. Also Dec. 29
  • Significant Lake Indigenous Plant Trail Restoration Challenge: 8 a.m. Friday. Horticulture pursuits involve weeding, removal of plant debris, mulching, shoveling and other responsibilities to preserve native plant beds. Also Dec. 23 and 30.
  • Urban Forest Aid Initiative: 9 a.m. Dec. 17. Forestry initiatives consist of path clearing, vine removal and pruning.

PRC designs dwelling tour, patron occasion

The Preservation Useful resource Center kicks off its holiday happenings with the 47th Getaway Household Tour and a bonus property Saturday and Sunday.

6 Back garden District properties, dressed for the holidays, will be provided in the tour. There will also be tunes, a boutique, ebook signings and style talks.

Slidell residences open up in JA tour Sunday

A few luxurious homes will be open up for the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell’s Tour of Residences 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Tour and caroling set for French Quarter Dec. 18

Decorations abound in the French Quarter houses included in the Patio Planters of the Vieux Carré’s once-a-year Holiday break Household Tour.

The self-guided walking tour features 5 private residences from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 18. A limited range of tickets will be sold.

A variety of property variations and decors will be included in the occasion, which precedes the once-a-year Caroling in Jackson Square at 7 p.m.
